  Just need to know

  have not been as regular on this site, as i was years ago.

  so i need to know, which posters here are playing the characters of ones who either claim they speak to god, are god, speak to an angel, hears god's voice in their head, are a prophet or any other numerous form of that character.

  some times those folks come up and bite me when i forget those sort of characters in the play are here.

  I feel it's best to be able to recognise them by their attributes, rather than having a list.

  I think some of the newbie god/jesus/messiah nutters are reincarnations of older ones. Some because they trashed their own characters in their past lives here, some, the minority, because they can't remember their old passwords. I have no idea why lars keeps changing his user name. His/her/it quickly IDs as hisheritself.

  Some may be portraying themselves as converts/whatever of the original nuttter, even though they may be that nutter.

  My list, if I bothered to write one up, I am sure would be different to everyone else's, including your own.

  ...and what is that avatar??? It has always intrigued me.... it's like some kind of wierd scarab beetle, but I know it's not.

  how do you cope with the stress of fading?

  i'm really struggling with it.

  i've been learning the ttatt for the past 6 months now and i've been inadvertantly fading - either one of us or the children have had coughs/colds/flu/chicken pox/stress over the past 3 months which has meant we've missed a lot of meetings and field service with good reason.

  we've only been out in service twice this year, so far no ones mentioned it to us but i'm waiting for our group overseer to bring it up anytime soon.

  Give yourself something constructive to do. Here is my suggestion.

  Get a book on critical thinking and study it. If you choose this one Teach Your Child How to Think, study it with your husband, asking him to take the lead in preparation for studying it with his children. Make him analyse any excuse he tries to use not to do this. Make him honestly defend any reason he gives for why the book shouldn't be studied, or is wrong.

  Then ....

  Don't let your husband avoid thinking things through. He has to understand that his doubts are soundly based .... NOT YOUR DOUBTS ...... HIS DOUBTS, so do not express your opinions and doubts, make him confront his through questioning.

  Nobody is free from any cult until they fully understand it is a scam. Your best chance of getting any family member to see the scam is before they ID you as apostate, weak in the faith, opposer, whatever, so son't blow your advantage by outing yourself prematurely.

  I mean, don't waste the time between you realising that you are in a cult and when you out yourself.

  Most of us blow our chance of taking our families out with us by IDing ourselves as the WT's dreaded APOSTATES before we remember all of the warnings that the WT gave our families that will ID us as 'the enemy'/Satan's minions/whatever. Talking to people who are less important than your family members about your doubts about the WT has a huge failure rate if the comments on this forum are anything to go by.

  I would prefer that you learn from our mistakes, rather than your own.

  Grace is my alternative Granny. Even if we don't agree on everything I still love her to bits, so don't bring her into this.

  "finding common ground with our objectives" + "we are religiously-neutral" = cog dis for me.

  As I see it, the only 'common ground' is disagreement with the WT church's teachings, not an agreement on better alternatives for the teachings/rules of the GB's sad little cult.

  If the WT is not Jehovah's true church, it isn't up to me, or the AAWA, to provide an alternative.

  so i've been pondering that there must be quite a few active jws out there who are conscious/awakened/lurking, but it's so risky to ask questions to find out they are.

  i'm sure this isn't anywhere in the watchtower, but i've read that early christians had the secret symbol of the fish to help identify friends, i.e.

  drawing a fish in the sand would secretly identify someone as being a christian.

  How should I respond to JW relative?

  so i've been talking to one of my jw relatives lately, she's a young adult, born-in.

  i've never openly said i don't believe in the governing body, and i've been asking her questions in order to get her thinking.

  so i asked her if she believed watchtower publications were inspired and equivalent to the bible.
